TWO 11-year-old children are feared to have drowned after they went missing near a dam along Jalan Murai 2, Taman Scientex in Pasir Gudang on Sunday evening.

Pasir Gudang Fire and Rescue Station operations commander Senior Fire Officer I Haizrul Rahmad said the station received an emergency call regarding the incident at 10.36pm.

“Upon the arrival of the Operations Response Team (PKO) at the scene, it was confirmed that two children had been reported missing since the afternoon.

“The victims’ father informed us that both children were feared to have drowned at the dam after a bicycle and slippers belonging to the victims were found at the location,” he said in a statement on Sunday.

Following the report, firefighters launched a search and rescue (SAR) operation in the area.

“The operation is still ongoing and efforts to locate both victims are continuing,” he said. - August 10, 2026
