PM: No political, racial or religious shield for those found guilty in TH, Felda probes
Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim vows that investigations into Tabung Haji and Felda will be conducted swiftly and transparently - August 21, 2026

PRIME MINISTER Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has vowed that investigations into Tabung Haji and Felda will proceed swiftly and transparently, with those found guilty facing firm action regardless of their political affiliation.

Anwar said the Government would not allow race or religion to be used as a shield against scrutiny, stressing that problems involving the management of government-linked entities must be addressed on their merits.

"I will ensure that investigations into TH and Felda are carried out continuously and swiftly, and firm action is taken against those who have caused damage because of their greed," he said at the Prime Minister’s Meet-and-Greet Session with Felda’s senior management and managers in Bangi today.

He said investigations into the two institutions should not be framed as racial or religious issues.

Anwar expressed concern over attempts by some Muslim leaders to portray scrutiny of Tabung Haji as an attack simply because it carries an Islamic identity.

"We take action; we do not ask whether it is a Malay company or a government company. If we identify a problem, we will take action.

"Do not turn this into a racial or religious issue, as in the case of TH. In fact, if you ask me, Muslims and Malays should be more committed and more meticulous when it comes to management, ethics and values, because we should be setting an example," he said.

The Prime Minister said the Government had a responsibility to ensure that institutions entrusted with public interests were managed properly and that any wrongdoing was dealt with without fear or favour.

His remarks come amid ongoing investigations into allegations highlighted in the Royal Commission of Inquiry report on Tabung Haji, as well as scrutiny of matters involving Felda.

Anwar has previously stressed that the investigations were not motivated by political revenge and that the Government would not interfere in investigations or prosecutorial decisions, which fall under the jurisdiction of the relevant enforcement agencies and the Attorney-General. - August 21, 2026
