Serian air quality remains hazardous with API reading at 376
Serian in Sarawak records a hazardous Air Pollutant Index (API) reading of 376 on Saturday morning while three other areas in the state remains at very unhealthy levels -September 5, 2026

SERIAN recorded a hazardous API reading of 376 as of 8am Saturday (Sept 5), with Kuching, Samarahan and Sri Aman also registering very unhealthy air quality.

According to the Environment Department’s Air Pollutant Index Management System (APIMS), the reading at IPD Serian stood at 376.

Kuching recorded an API reading of 279, followed by Samarahan at 267 and Sri Aman at 259, all within the very unhealthy range.

Nationwide, another 24 areas recorded unhealthy API readings, while 30 areas registered moderate air quality. - September 5, 2026
