THE Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department operations centre said it received several distress calls and deployed teams from the Keramat, Jalan Tun Razak and Titiwangsa fire stations in Kuala Lumpur to the affected areas for rescue and monitoring operations.
“The first incident was reported near Tuscany Home Furnitures along Jalan Mengkudu, Ampang, involving a stranded vehicle in 0.9 metre deep waters. Firefighters managed to rescue the victim in the vehicle.
“The second incident occurred near Kondominium Desa Angkasa, Taman U-Thant, involving a BMW stranded in floodwaters. Firefighters rescued two victims from the car,” the centre said in a statement yesterday.
The third incident involved a flooded residential home where residents reported a risk of electrocution in the area.
The fourth involved a vehicle stranded in floodwaters along Menara Safuan, Jalan Ampang, but firefighters found that the vehicle was unoccupied.
Fire and rescue personnel continued monitoring the affected areas following the incidents. - September 21, 2026
