Police arrest the victim’s husband following the incident in Kota Bharu - October 7, 2026

A 44-YEAR-OLD nurse was seriously injured after she was allegedly stabbed six times by her husband at their home in Kampung Padang Lepai, near Kadok, in Kota Bharu on Tuesday night.

The victim suffered stab wounds to her body and neck and is receiving treatment at Hospital Raja Perempuan Zainab II.

Police arrested her 47-year-old husband after he surrendered following the incident, which was reported at about 8.30 pm.

Kota Bharu district police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Azmir Damiri confirmed the incident and said police received a report that night.

“The police have yet to identify the motive for the incident. The suspect has been remanded for seven days from yesterday to assist investigations,” he told Berita Harian.

Azmir said the case was being investigated under Section 326 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing grievous hurt using a dangerous weapon.

Police also seized a knife from the suspect. - October 7, 2026
