KUALA LUMPUR – Calling the national Covid-19 immunisation programme an effort that “transcends political differences”, Pakatan Harapan called on all parties to make it their primary national mission.
The PH Immunisation Committee said in a statement today that state governments under PH rule, as well as the coalition’s members of parliament and assemblymen, would give their full cooperation and support to the Health Ministry to ensure the programme’s success.
“The PH Immunisation Committee welcomes the government’s initiative in implementing this programme.
“The success of the immunisation programme is important to revive the economy, reduce the risk of Covid-19 infection, and restore people’s lives,” said the committee.
Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said that the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine will arrive in the country this Sunday, while the immunisation programme’s rollout begins in phases from February 26.
The PH Immunisation Committee also said it hoped PH MPs would be included in the programme’s committee, to reflect the government’s bipartisan effort in the interests of the nation. – Bernama, February 16, 2021
