7 cars razed in Pantai Dalam blaze

KUALA LUMPUR – Seven vehicles in the parking lot of a People’s Housing Project (PPR) in Pantai Dalam here were destroyed in a fire yesterday.

Brickfields district deputy police chief Basri Sagoni, in a statement, said a team was deployed to the scene about 12.45pm after receiving a report on the blaze.

He said seven cars were found burnt in the PPR parking lot, and fire forensic experts sent to the location discovered a bottle that smelled of petrol.

“There were traces of petrol in front of a Myvi and van, believed to be the cause of the fire.”

He said five samples taken from the scene have been sent for lab analysis.

The case is being investigated under Section 435 of the Penal Code for committing mischief by fire. – Bernama, February 18, 2021
