Sarawak virus deaths hit 67 with 2 new fatalities

MIRI – Sibu Hospital today logged two new Covid-19 fatalities – a 66-year-old man and 72-year-old woman – bringing Sarawak’s death toll to 67.

The state Disaster Management Committee secretariat, in a statement, said another 200 infections were recorded, with 22 active clusters.

Sibu district registered 120 new cases, followed by Kanowit (22), Kuching (17), Sebauh and Mambong (11 each), and Kapit, Miri and Sri Aman (4 each). Other districts logged one or two new cases.

Sibu Hospital is treating 1,080 coronavirus patients, and Miri Hospital, 310.

Kapit Hospital has 200 Covid-19 patients, followed by Sarawak General Hospital in Kuching (175), Bintulu Hospital (148), Sarikei Hospital (58), and Limbang, Sri Aman and Lawas Hospitals (1 each).
