KUALA LUMPUR – The registration for Covid-19 vaccination via www.vaksincovid.gov.my and a government hotline will start on March 5, said Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Khairy Jamaluddin.
After today’s launch of the national immunisation programme in Putrajaya, he advised the public to download and update the MySejahtera app, as registration for vaccination through the platform has been activated.
As of 2.45pm today, he said, 465,081 people have registered via MySejahtera.
He added that the government will try to vaccinate almost 55,000 teachers before the school term begins.
Khairy said healthcare workers will be vaccinated in the first phase of the inoculation drive.
“This will include contract workers at hospitals, those involved in cleaning.
“They are included in the first phase,” he told a press conference after Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin received his first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.
Phase 1 of the immunisation programme kicked off with Muhyiddin getting his jab at 2.43pm.
The second person to be inoculated was 36-year-old driver Clement Marai Francis, followed by Health Director-General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.
The first few frontliners to get vaccinated were 44-year-old assistant medical officer Khairul Asraf Mohd Yasin from the Putrajaya health office, and nurse Sheilla Mellissa Sikin, 31, and physician Dr Tan Yee Ling, 30, both from the Presint 9 clinic. – The Vibes, February 24, 2021
