PUTRAJAYA – Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Mohd Zuki Ali today received the Covid-19 vaccine at the Putrajaya Health Office at Presint 11 here.
In sharing the experience on his Instagram page, he posted a picture of himself alongside Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba, Health Ministry secretary-general Datuk Mohd Shafiq Abdullah and three frontliners.
In his post, Zuki said he hoped the effort will help flatten the Covid-19 infection curve so that everyone can return to normal life.
“I also hope all civil servants register to get the Covid-19 vaccine on the MySejahtera app,” he said.
Zuki also thanked all frontliners committed to curbing the Covid-19 pandemic.
The National COVID-19 Immunisation Programme began yesterday, with Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin being the first individual to receive the vaccine, followed by Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah and four frontliners, at the Putrajaya Health Office in Presint 11, Putrajaya.
Themed “Protect Yourself, Protect All”, the programme is being implemented in three phases, with Phase 1 from February to April for frontliners involving 500,000 people.
Phase 2 from April to August involves senior citizens aged 65 and above and the disabled involving 9.4 million people, while Phase 3 from May this year to February next year is for those aged 18 and above – Malaysians and foreigners – with a target of more than 13.7 million people.
The government is targeting for at least 80% of the population to receive the vaccine by February next year. – Bernama, February 25, 2021
