KOTA KINABALU – Warisan’s Sebatik assemblyman Hassan A. Gani Pg Amir has left the party, citing unhappiness over its association with Pakatan Harapan (PH), among others.
He said he was disappointed with the actions of PH and Warisan leaders who put political interest above the wellbeing of the people.
Warisan is not a component of PH, but an ally.
“The actions of these leaders to reject the 2021 national budget in Parliament. Their actions obviously put the rakyat’s need behind especially during the pandemic that evidently needs a huge budget.
“The actions of leaders from parties with PH trying to destabilise the government with their attempt to oust the prime minister,” he said in a statement today.
Hassan said he is also unhappy with the Warisan leaders who constantly made decisions without consulting grassroots and assemblymen, as well as the failure to have initiatives to assist the people burdened by the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Hassan said he has decided to become an independent representative, supporting the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah state government, chief minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Md Noor and Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.
Warisan won 29 seats in the Sabah election held on September 26 last year.
