SEREMBAN – Six chalets in Sg Gadut, Kg Ulu Lalang, Rantau here were destroyed in a fire yesterday afternoon.
Rantau fire chief Mohd Izzuwan Abd Rahim said personnel rushed to the scene after receiving an emergency call at 3.34pm.
“The chalets were semi-permanent structures made entirely of bamboo. They were totally burnt,” he told Bernama.
“No casualties were reported, and the fire was under control by 4.01pm.”
The cause of the blaze and losses incurred are being investigated.
Izzuwan said 21 firefighters, three fire trucks and an emergency services vehicle from the Rantau, Senawang and Rembau stations were deployed. – Bernama, February 28, 2021
