PUTRAJAYA – The order to wear a tracking device is among five new provisions under the Emergency (Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases) (Amendment) Ordinance 2021, which will come into force March 11, said Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba.
He said the hi-tech wristband, aimed at controlling movement, is mandatory for three categories, namely Covid-19 patients, persons under investigation and close contacts of Covid-19 patients, and persons under surveillance.
“The device is to be worn for 10 days,” he told a press conference, in the presence of Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Parliament and Law) Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan, at the Health Ministry here today. – Bernama, March 3, 2021
