KOTA KINABALU – Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) secretary-general Datuk Joniston Bangkuai needs to take a long hard look in the mirror before calling others hypocrites, said Warisan treasurer-general Terrence Siambun.
The war of words comes after Sebatik assemblyman Hassan A. Gani Pg Amir’s recent defection from Warisan to become a Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) state government-friendly independent.
“Does he (Bangkuai) and PBS now endorse party-hopping?” Siambun questioned.
Yesterday, Bangkuai had criticised Warisan president Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal’s reaction to Hassan’s defection.
Siambun said Hassan, so taken up by GRS’ offer, has ignored his promises to his constituents and the oath he took before the state polls last September.
He also reminded Bangkuai that in 1994, the PBS government collapsed just days after its victory when several of its assemblymen ditched the party.
“Instead of nitpicking, Bangkuai should force his comrades in GRS to address issues such as undocumented migrants.” – The Vibes, March 4, 2021
