MIRI – The body of a man, believed to have been attacked by a crocodile, was found in the remote Sg Oya in Mukah, central Sarawak, this morning.
In a statement, the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department said the victim has been identified as Ali Baba Dahri, 52, from Kg Kuala Oya.
His remains were found near Kg Senau about 8km from where he had gone missing.
"The man went missing yesterday evening while in a boat catching prawns along the riverbank.
"His brother lodged a report after he did not return home, and the boat was later found half-submerged.
"A search-and-rescue operation was carried out since yesterday,” the statement read.
“It is believed he was attacked by a crocodile.”
Police have been informed of the incident and the remains have been sent to Mukah Hospital for a post-mortem. – The Vibes, March 7, 2021
