IPOH – Police officers who refuse to take the Covid-19 vaccine will be asked to resign, said Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Abdul Hamid Bador today.
Hamid said that approximately 95% of officers and personnel across the country are ready to receive their shots, with only 3% unable to do so due to health reasons.
“I really encourage all police personnel to take the vaccine, except those advised not to by the Health Ministry, such as pregnant staff, or those with allergies and comorbidities.
“I will try to explain the importance and advantages of taking the vaccine to the remaining 2% of our personnel.
“Our source of reference is the Health Ministry, not a shaman or any deviant scholar. If I find that they are following deviant teachings (and refuse to take the vaccine), I will ask them to leave the police force,” he said today.
This came in response to a media report that a number of Kelantan police personnel had allegedly refused to take the vaccine. – Bernama, March 12, 2021
