IPOH – Police have called the organiser of the 19th Perak DAP convention as part of their investigation into the commotion that broke out at the Ipoh Convention Centre last Sunday.

State top cop Datuk Mior Faridalathrash Wahid, in a statement today, said there were 1,731 delegates in attendance – fewer than the maximum 4,500 people allowed in the hall.

“We are now analysing videos and photographs taken at the scene to identify the individuals involved and violations of the conditional movement control order.”

He said an investigation paper has been opened under the Emergency (Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases) (Amendment) Ordinance 2021, and will be forwarded to the deputy public prosecutor upon its completion.

“The public should not speculate or issue irresponsible statements in relation to the case, so as to not disrupt the police investigation.”
