TUMPAT – Kelantan PAS respects the state Umno’s decision to break ties and cooperation with Bersatu, said its secretary, Datuk Che Abdullah Mat Nawi.

He said all parties have the right to make their own decisions based on their respective direction.

“The decision by Umno only binds the party and its members; it doesn’t bind PAS or other parties,” he told reporters here today.

He said the state PAS’ stand is in line with that of the party’s central level, aimed at strengthening consensus and defending Perikatan Nasional.

“We are confident in the PN administration, which has had a harmonious effect on the whole of society… so, we will continue to play our role to unite the people, and I am confident this is what the people of Malaysia want.”

It was reported that Kelantan Umno has decided to sever ties with Bersatu and asked PAS to make a clear and immediate decision as to whether it will stand with the Barisan Nasional lynchpin or PN’s main party in the 15th general election. – Bernama, March 26, 2021
