Thai babysitter arrested in JB over infant abuse

JOHOR BARU – A Thai babysitter was arrested yesterday on suspicion of abusing a 6-month-old girl here recently.

Johor Baru Selatan district police chief Mohd Padzli Mohd Zain, in a statement, said the 29-year-old woman is married to a local.

“On March 14, police received a report alleging that a baby girl is being abused by her Thai babysitter.

“The victim suffered bruises and swelling on the body, and minor bleeding on the head.”

He said the child is receiving treatment at a private hospital here, and is reported to be in stable condition.

The case is being investigated under Section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act 2001. – Bernama, March 27, 2021
