KUALA LUMPUR – The government has registered 1,638 new Covid-19 cases today, leading to a cumulative total of 349,610 cases.

In its daily update, the Health Ministry stated there were also a total of three fatalities today, bringing Malaysia’s pandemic death toll to 1,286.

Meanwhile, 1,449 patients have been discharged from hospitals and declared free of the virus. The overall number of recoveries thus far is 333,892.

Perak saw the highest number of new cases today with 494, followed by Selangor with 352 and Sarawak with 290.

Perlis did not record any cases at all, while the lowest numbers of new infections were seen in Terengganu, with four cases, and Putrajaya, with seven.

The rest of the states and territories in Malaysia saw fewer than 100 new cases.

The states under the conditional movement control order are Penang, Selangor, Johor, Kelantan and Sarawak, while the rest of the country is under the recovery movement control order. – The Vibes, April 3, 2021
