SEREMBAN – A housing construction site here has been ordered to close immediately for failing to comply with standard operating procedures (SOPs) set by the National Security Council.
The Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) in a statement today said the construction site was operating beyond the 60% worker capacity and its worker accommodation has no approval from the Labour Department or local authority.
“CIDB has put up a closure notice and cordoned off the area… and issued several notices for other offences.”
Previously, the Works Ministry reported that a total of 150 construction sites nationwide have been ordered to close since June 1 for failing to comply with SOPs. – Bernama, June 22, 2021
