KUALA LUMPUR – Five localities in Sabah and two in Kedah will be under the enhanced movement control order (EMCO) from June 26 to July 9, said Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
The Sabah localities are Kg Muhibbah in Menggatal, Kota Kinabalu; Tawau Prison and the prison quarters in Taman Ehsan; Kg Kuala Merotai in Kalabakan; Kg Tahak in Membakut, Beaufort; and, Indah Jaya flats in Sandakan.
The affected localities in Kedah are Sultanah Bahiyah Polytechnic in Kulim and Bestgrade Industrial Area in Pokok Sena.
In his statement this evening, Ismail Sabri said several localities under the EMCO in Terengganu, Pahang, Johor, Sarawak and Negri Sembilan will end either according to schedule or earlier following a decrease in Covid-19 infections and clusters brought under control.
The EMCO in Kg Tajin in Kuala Berang, Terengganu; Taman Temerloh Jaya, Taman Temerloh Jaya Indah and Taman Temerloh Makmur in Temerloh, Pahang; Ladang Tereh Mill in Kluang, Johor; and, Kg Kolong 2 in Kuching, Sarawak, will be lifted tomorrow as scheduled.
The movement controls imposed on Kg Lakai in Jelebu, Negri Sembilan, which were slated to end on Sunday, will end tomorrow.
Also ending tomorrow ahead of schedule is the EMCO enforced at Rumah Panjang Bala anak Umba, Rumah Panjang Tulu anak Sli, Rumah Panjang Duah anak Entingi, Rumah Panjang Balik anak Gema, SK St Luke and Nanga Baoh clinic in Mukah, Sarawak.
On standard operating procedure compliance, Ismail Sabri said 761 individuals were arrested for violating the rules yesterday, with 741 compounded, 19 remanded, and one bailed out.
