KUALA LUMPUR – Four localities in Sabah and two in Kuala Lumpur will be placed under the enhanced movement control order (EMCO), said Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
In a statement today, he said the affected Sabah localities are Kg Pukat Tg Batu Laut and Kg Baru Pasir Putih in Tawau, as well as Lorong 12, 15 and 16 in Taman Fajar and the Taman Murni People’s Housing Project in Sandakan.
The EMCO will be in effect in these places from June 27 to July 10.
Ismail Sabri said the EMCO in the federal capital’s Kg Segambut Dalam in Segambut and Jalan Kubur in Pantai Dalam will be in force from tomorrow to July 9.
He said the EMCO in the subdistricts of Bukit Besar and Serada in Kuala Terengganu, Terengganu; Universiti Utara Malaysia in Sintok, Kedah; and, Taman Villa Felca Nambazan in Penampang, Kg Kadazan in Tawau, and Kg Lobou 1 and Kg Bukit Permai in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, will end as scheduled tomorrow.
Three Sabah localities, namely Kg Skim Cocos in Kunak; Taman Puri Warisan in Kota Kinabalu; and, Taman Telipok Jaya in Tuaran, will also see the order lifted tomorrow, ahead of schedule.
Ismail Sabri added that two factories and 11 business premises were ordered closed yesterday following MCO compliance checks.
Also yesterday, 696 individuals were arrested for flouting lockdown rules, with 671 compounded and 25 remanded, he said.
