Legendary singer, 7 others give statement over alleged SOP violation

IPOH – Police have summoned eight individuals, including a legendary singer, to give their statement after pictures featuring people violating standard operating procedures (SOPs) at a social gathering in Kg Poh in Bidor on Thursday went viral.

Tapah police chief Wan Azharuddin Wan Ismail said the 62-year-old singer and another 80s celebrity gave their statement at the district police headquarters at noon today.

He said six individuals who were at the event came in to record their statement yesterday, “while the two celebrities gave their statements today”.

Pictures of the event that allegedly show the celebrities and other individuals violating movement control order SOPs went viral yesterday.

The alleged violations include not observing physical distancing and failing to wear face masks. – Bernama, June 27, 2021
