MIRI – Five more rural Sarawak longhouses have been placed under enhanced movement control order (EMCO) due to increasing Covid-19 infections today.
The State Disaster Management Committee secretariat said 376 new infections and one fatality were recorded today.
The affected longhouses are Rumah Amin in Tatau district, Rumah Ngelai in Sarikei district, Rumah Malai, Rumah Mang, and Rumah Changgie in Saratok district.
In addition, a timber workers’ camp in Camp Power Bright in Tatau district has been put under EMCO due to rising infections.
All of them will undergo EMCO for the coming two weeks, the secretariat said.
Today’s single fatality brings the death toll to 409. The victim is a 75-year-old man in Kapit Hospital.
Of the new cases today, Kuching district has 94, followed by Sibu (63), Bau (32), Mukah (28), Telang Usan (21), Serian (17), Sarikei (14), Samarahan (14), Sri Aman (13), Miri (10), and other districts with fewer than 10 cases each. – The Vibes, June 30, 2021
