PUTRAJAYA – Manual, semi-automated and automated carwashes licensed by local authorities, as well as morning and farmers’ markets, are allowed to operate in states under Phase 2 of the National Recovery Plan.

The Housing and Local Government Ministry said these businesses need not obtain permission to operate via the Covid-19 Intelligent Management System maintained by the International Trade and Industry Ministry.

It is enough for them to show they have a business licence issued by local authorities, it said in a statement today.

“If their business location involves inter-district or interstate travel, they need to get police permission by submitting their business licence or hawker permit.”

Perlis, Perak, Kelantan, Terengganu and Pahang are already under Phase 2, with Penang to join them tomorrow.

“Only six main commodities – fish, meat, chicken, eggs, vegetables and fruits – are allowed to be sold (at morning and farmers’ markets). Weekly and night markets, and pasar tamu, are still not allowed to operate,” said the ministry. – Bernama, July 6, 2021
