KUALA LUMPUR – Based on daily cases, the estimated Covid-19 infectivity rate (Rt) for the whole country stood at 1.09 yesterday, with Putrajaya recording the highest at 1.28.

Most states have an estimated Rt value exceeding 1.00, while four states recorded a value below 1.00, according to data shared by Health Director-General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.

“States with an estimated Rt above 1.00 are Perak (1.18), Kuala Lumpur (1.16), Selangor (1.14), Pahang (1.10), Kedah (1.08), Penang and Sabah (1.07), Melaka (1.06), Terengganu (1.04) and Negri Sembilan (1.02).”

He said states with an estimated Rt below 1.00 are Johor (0.96), Kelantan (0.90), as well as Labuan and Sarawak (0.86).

The Rt value refers to the level of Covid-19 infectivity, which is the number of individuals who can be infected by one positive case. – Bernama, July 9, 2021
