SHAH ALAM – Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah has consented to the Selangor assembly convening from August 23 to September 6.
Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari in a statement today said the sitting received the royal nod via a letter dated Tuesday.
He said Selangor’s Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, too, has consented to the session.
“The Selangor sultan has agreed to grace the opening ceremony of the state assembly on Monday, August 23.”
He expressed the state government’s gratitude to the Agong and Sultan Sharafuddin.
Once it is officiated, he said, the assembly will meet from August 24 to 27, and 30; and, September 1 to 3, and 6.
It will be conducted in the regular format, with question-and-answer sessions and debates, said Amirudin.
“This sitting will be held in compliance with the standard operating procedures and focus on the state government’s efforts to curb Covid-19. It will also gather feedback from assemblymen on the checks and balances needed with regard to the executive.” – Bernama, July 9, 2021
