KUALA LUMPUR – Malaysia’s daily Covid-19 tally remains above 9,000 for the third consecutive day, with 9,105 cases logged over the last 24 hours.
It is a slight decrease from yesterday’s all-time high of 9,353 infections, and takes the national total to 836,296.
Just 18 of the new infections were imported.
Selangor leads once more with a whopping 4,682 cases, followed by Kuala Lumpur (1,247) and Negri Sembilan (541).
Johor saw 392 cases, Kedah (382), Pahang (300), Melaka (278), Sabah (271), Sarawak (270), Penang (243), Perak (207) and Kelantan (150).
States with infections in the double digits are Labuan (54), Putrajaya (49) and Terengganu (38).
Perlis registered one fresh case.
There were also 5,194 recoveries in the past day, which leaves active cases nationwide currently at 87,841.
Deaths rose from 87 yesterday to 91 today, pushing the total number of fatalities from Covid-19 in Malaysia to 6,158.
Meanwhile, 961 patients are currently in intensive care, with 455 needing ventilator support.
As for clusters, 13 of the 19 new clusters today involved the workplace.
The Batu Muda community cluster recorded in Kepong, Kuala Lumpur today was the cluster with the highest new cases reported with 197 infections, while the cluster with the least cases was the Bandar Baru Tunjong workplace cluster detected in Kota Baru and Pasir Mas with 6 cases. – The Vibes, July 11, 2021
