EMCO ends ahead of time for 2 Petaling areas

KUALA LUMPUR – Two localities in Petaling are set to see the enhanced movement control order (EMCO) end tomorrow, ahead of its initial date. 

They are Westlife Apartments in Petaling Jaya, and Mentari Court in Bandar Sunway.

In a statement, today, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob also announced several localities and districts outside Kuala Lumpur will also see EMCO end tomorrow.

They are:

– Kampung Peninbawan, Sabah

– Kampung Linau, Sabah

– Kuarters Pekerja Padang Mukah 1, Sarawak

– Kuarters Pekerja Balingian Power Generation, Sarawak

– Rumah Panjang Malang Anak Bada, Sarawak

Ismail Sabri also announced that the National Security Council will begin implementing EMCO in several areas in Sabah from Tuesday to 26 July.

These areas include Kg Jempangah and Kg Rancangan Klias in Beaufort, Kg Tebongon in Putatan, Jalan Pasir Likas, Kg Kuala Menggatal, and Kuarters Tangki Air Biru in Kota Kinabalu, as well as Borneo Timber in Tongod.

While Kg Gong Jering in Pasir Puteh, Kelantan will also be under EMCO for the same period.

Meanwhile, Ismail Sabri said the country is on the right track to achieve herd immunity soon.

The country, he said, has surpassed the global vaccination per capita rate, with daily vaccinations recording a total of 250,000 doses on a consistent basis.
