PUTRAJAYA – Flexibility for individuals who have received both doses of the Covid-19 vaccine will be announced soon, said Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba.
The health minister’s remark today follows Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin’s statement yesterday that the government is considering granting leeway to individuals who have completed the vaccination regimen, including allowing them to dine in at restaurants and undertake inter-district or interstate travel.
Muhyiddin said he has asked the Covid-19 Vaccine Supply Access Guarantee Special Committee to re-evaluate the standard operating procedures to give flexibility to the fully vaccinated.
Dr Adham, in a virtual press conference with National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme coordinating minister Khairy Jamaluddin, said 172 pregnant healthcare workers have contracted the coronavirus, with most in Categories 1 and 2.
He said 51 are in Category 1 and 117 in Category 2, with the rest in Category 5.
In the period from July 4 to 10, he said, there were 870 active clusters nationwide, and the infectivity rate stood at 1.13.
He said a total of 19.0 responses per 1,000 vaccine doses administered since the start of the immunisation drive with regard to adverse events following immunisation (AEFI) were received through MySejahtera.
Among the side effects reported are pain at the injection site, headache and fatigue, he said.
Based on the National Pharmaceutical Regulatory Agency’s AEFI monitoring system, only 0.06 reports per every 1,000 doses administered were classified as serious and requiring further treatment and hospitalisation. – Bernama, July 16, 2021
