KUALA LUMPUR – Six more localities in Sabah and two in Sarawak will come under the enhanced movement control order (EMCO) from Thursday until August 4, said Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
In a statement today, he said the Sabah localities are four areas in Kota Kinabalu – namely the Lusera Telipok sawmill; Kg Mogiding Malawa and the Progressif Perwira workers’ quarters; Kg Sinulihan; and, University Utama Condominium Phase 2 – as well as Kg Guruh-Guruh in Sipitang, and Kg Air and Kg Bokara in Sandakan.
“The two localities in Sarawak involve two villages in Kuching, namely Kg Bintawa Hilir and Kg Sg Tapang.”
He said the EMCO imposed on Kg Sri Menanti, Tawau, and Kg Pondo, Kg Kasuapan, Kg Lok Urai and Kg Pulau Gaya on Pulau Gaya, Kota Kinabalu, has been extended until August 4.
The EMCO in two Orang Asli settlements in Rompin, Pahang – Kg Kerpal and Kg Pinang – will end tomorrow as scheduled.
Ismail Sabri said 38 premises, comprising factories, shops and construction sites, were ordered shut yesterday for failing to abide by Covid-19 standard operating procedures.
A total of 388 individuals were arrested for breaching virus rules, with 355 compounded, 31 remanded and two released on bail. – Bernama, July 20, 2021
