KUALA LUMPUR – In response to the government’s fight to achieve herd immunity, Prasarana has opened a second industrial vaccination centre at the Cheras Selatan Rapid Bus Complex today.

On Monday (19 July), Transport Minister Datuk Seri Wee Ka Siong said that two Prasarana Malaysia Bhd assets, the Cheras Selatan Rapid Bus Complex and Putra Heights LRT Station have been converted into industry vaccination centres (PPVIN).

In a statement, Prasarana said that the PPVIN at the Putra Heights light rapid transit station began operations on Monday, and the PPVIN in Cheras Selatan Rapid Bus Complex started today.

The complex located in Balakong targets to provide the first dose of vaccine to over 2,000 staff members.

Chairman of Rapid Bus Datuk Seri Mustafa Ali was present at the centre and expressed his satisfaction for the process to be running smoothly.

“I hope all staff will continue their excellent service to ensure that the target of herd immunity will be achieved,” he said.

The centre caters for Rapid Bus staff only and is operated fully by internal staff as volunteers.

It will be open for four days and target to vaccinate 600 people each day.

In total, 2,900 Rapid Bus staff have already registered for their vaccination at the PPVIN Cheras Selatan Rapid Bus Complex. – The Vibes, July 21, 2021
