KUALA LUMPUR – Sg Buloh Hospital has clarified that its Forensic Department is involved only in handling the collection, storage and management of the remains of Covid-19 victims, as well as the bodies of non-coronavirus patients.

In a statement, director Dr Kuldip Kaur said the department does not impose charges on deceased’s next of kin.

“All next of kin must deal with the company (funeral parlour) chosen by them (family members) to handle the funeral arrangements of both Covid-19 and non-Covid-19 patients.”

She said this in response to a WhatsApp message claiming that funeral arrangement fees for Covid-19 victims at the hospital amounted to RM9,000. – Bernama, July 21, 2021
