KUALA LUMPUR – An individual believed to have booked a helicopter from here to pick up an order of 36 packets of nasi ganja in Ipoh is currently being investigated by police for possible breach of movement control order standard operating procedures.

According to the New Straits Times, Perak police chief Datuk Mior Faridalathrash Wahid said that police will also be investigating the company that owns the helicopter.

“Police will be investigating this issue for possibly breaching interstate or inter-district travel SOPs, which apply to both the individual and company,” he said in a statement, today.

The case, he added, will be investigated under the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act (Act 342).

Earlier, today, several reports emerged that a helicopter landed at Padang Ipoh to pick up 36 packets of nasi ganja booked by a customer from Kuala Lumpur today.

Mior earlier stated that checks with the Ipoh Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia showed the helicopter was only allowed to land at Sultan Azlan Shah Airport.

However, the helicopter managed to land at Padang Ipoh here between 9.55am and 10.15am to pick up the order, sparking social media debate among netizens on possible breach of SOPs. – The Vibes, July 23, 2021
