KUALA LUMPUR – A total of 29 localities in Kedah, Perak, Kelantan, Terengganu and Sabah will be subjected to the enhanced movement control order (EMCO) from July 27 to August 9.
Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the decision was made after taking into account the risk assessment and trend of Covid-19 infections in all the areas.
The 14 localities involved in Kelantan are in Pasir Puteh, namely Pekan Selising, Kg Selising, Kg Tok Dir, Kg Pak Omar, Kg Bukit Bidang, Kg Bukit Merbau, Kg Berangan, Kg Banggol Pak Esah, Kg Alor Geliong, Kg Banggol Jenereh, Kg Kubang Sawa, Kg Lubuk Kedondong, Kg Chat and Kg Banggol Dollah.
In Perak, four villages in Larut Matang and Selama are involved, namely Kg Sg Seputeh, Kg Teluk Mas, Kg Garok and Kg Tapah.
Kedah and Terengganu each have one village involved – Kg Teluk Menara in Kuala Terengganu and Kg Bukit Malut in Pulau Langkawi, respectively.
The EMCO in Sabah will involve Kg Mananam in Tongod; Taman Semarak Megah in Tawau; Kg Sangkabok in Menumbok; Ladang Belian in Kalabakan; Kg Batandok and Kg Menanjung in Beaufort; Kg Pelakat and Kg Pelakat Paya in Sipitang; and, Kg Sumaang in Ranau.
Ismail Sabri said the EMCO in Kg Gong Jering in Pasir Puteh, Kelantan, which was slated to end tomorrow, will be extended until August 9.
A similar order at Damai Apartment in PJS 8, Damansara, Selangor, ended today, ahead of schedule, he added.
He said 49 premises comprising businesses, factories and construction sites were ordered to close yesterday for failing to comply with the standard operating procedures (SOPs) set by the government to curb the spread of Covid-19.
