KUALA LUMPUR – Police have advised employers to send their workers, especially migrant ones, for Covid-19 vaccination at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre jab site according to the set appointment times so as to avoid crowding.
“Many migrant workers from Kuala Lumpur, Selangor and Negri Sembilan are directed to the KLCC vaccination centre (PPV)… employers are asked not to send them too early, and to follow the appointments,” said Dang Wangi district police chief Mohamad Zainal Abdullah in a statement yesterday.
A 26-second video showing a long queue waiting to enter the PPV has gone viral.
In a separate case, a man who was filmed raising his voice to an elderly man was issued a RM1,500 compound for not wearing a mask.
Zainal said the fine was imposed after investigations revealed that the 34-year-old was not wearing a mask when giving a talk at a transit centre for the homeless in Jalan Pahang.
“Investigations found that the incident happened at 11.30am yesterday (Tuesday). We found a 49-second clip on social media of an individual, who was not wearing a mask, scolding an elderly man.”
He said the suspect was compounded after being called up to give his statement at the Dang Wangi district police headquarters about 5.20pm yesterday. – Bernama, July 29, 2021
