KUALA LUMPUR – The Malaysia Tech Month 2021 (MTM 2021) is expected to bring in RM50 million worth of opportunities, as it will attract some 20,000 participants from over 50 countries, said Communications and Multimedia Minister Datuk Saifuddin Abdullah.
MTM 2021 will run from today until August 30.
Saifuddin said the month-long virtual event organised by the ministry and Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation is part of a massive concerted effort, in line with the Malaysia Digital Economy Blueprint and National Fourth Industrial Revolution Policy to develop Malaysia into a high-tech nation by 2030.
“MTM 2021 is a month-long, carefully curated programme that will be a space for the public and private sectors to engage in conversations on digital technology, and create ideas that further reinforce our position in the region’s digital economy,” he said when launching the event virtually today.
Saifuddin said 40 programmes will explore key topics and issues surrounding digital economy, including Islamic Fintech, agriculture and drone technology, e-Commerce, artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things and digital creative content industry.
This is MTM’s second edition, and is a testament to the ministry’s goal to ensure technology serves the benefits of and brings equitable opportunities to the people, as the country navigates unprecedented and new socio-economic norms and radical disruptions to business and life.
More than 300 local and international industry speakers and investors will take part in the event, and share their experiences and thoughts through a variety of keynotes, workshops, discussion panels and matching sessions. – Bernama, July 29, 2021
