KUALA LUMPUR – The Umno Supreme Council will be hold an emergency virtual meeting tomorrow at 4pm, said the party’s secretary-general, Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan today.
In a tweet today, he said topics of discussion will include the decree by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong and statement issued by Istana Negara, the emergency proclamation and its ordinances, and the postponement of the current Parliament sitting.

Meanwhile, Umno president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi is continuing to criticise the Perikatan Nasional government, saying its chief and followers have failed.
“The government must be corrected. Its leader and followers have failed. Fix everything for the sake of the people and the country.
“I think the people will remember what they did. Don’t think that people will forget or be fooled easily,” he said in a statement today.
This comes amid the political imbroglio that erupted last week following the sudden closure of Parliament and calls for Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin to prove majority support.
Previously, the Umno Supreme Council had said that party MPs are free to decide who to back if a motion of no confidence is tabled in the Dewan Rakyat. – The Vibes, August 2, 2021
