KUALA LUMPUR – Padang Rengas MP Datuk Seri Mohamed Nazri Abdul Aziz will not be answering the letter from his party demanding Umno MPs state their stand on the Perikatan Nasional, despite today’s deadline.

Nazri said he will not answer the letter sent out by Umno secretary-general Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan.

“I got the letter from Umno sec-gen via WhatsApp today but I will not answer the letter because I have done nothing wrong.

“The person who should be issued a show-cause letter is president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi for clearly going against the resolution made during the general assembly (in March),” he told Astro Awani.

He reiterated that Zahid’s “offence” was clear in the audio clip between him and opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim after the assembly.

“I have also said before that Zahid must meet all Umno MPs to explain his actions. But he has not done so,” Nazri was quoted as saying.

It was reported that the letter requires Umno MPs to state their stand on the Perikatan Nasional government and whether they will resign.

Nazri was among the Barisan Nasional MPs who yesterday agreed to allow the current government to continue until a confidence motion is tabled in the Dewan Rakyat next month.
