MERSING – The Rural Development Ministry advised rural residents to not be choosy about the type of Covid-19 vaccine that they will get, as all brands are approved by the National Pharmaceutical Regulatory Agency.

Minister Datuk Abdul Latiff Ahmad said the priority is to get vaccinated as soon as possible, so the country can achieve herd immunity.

“The people should not be choosy about the type of Covid-19 vaccine that they want, whether it is a single-dose like CanSino or double-dose, because the important thing is that they get the jab as soon as possible.

“When I met rural communities, like the Orang Asli, for the first time, they said they are worried about getting the vaccine. But after talking to them, their response is very good.”

Latiff was responding to a question on whether the single-dose CanSino vaccine will be administered to rural residents. – Bernama, August 7, 2021
