KUALA LUMPUR – Former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and Jerlun MP Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir finished giving their police statements over last Monday’s march to Parliament.
Their lawyers Mior Nor Haidir Suhaimi and Muhammad Rafique Rashid Ali said in a statement that the father-son duo spent 45 minutes with police at the Perdana Leadership Foundation in Putrajaya this afternoon.
“Between 2.45pm and 3.30pm today, four police officers from Bukit Aman’s Classified Crime Unit were present at the Perdana Leadership Foundation to record statements from Dr Mahathir and Mukhriz.
“Investigations are being conducted under the Peaceful Assembly Act 2012 and the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988.”

The lawyers said the two MPs gave their full cooperation to police during the questioning.
“Dr Mahathir and Mukhriz have given their full cooperation and said that they will answer to all charges when they appear in court,” they added.
Earlier today, other opposition lawmakers were summoned to the Dang Wangi district police headquarters to have their statements recorded over the march by the MPs to Parliament last Monday.
