GEORGE TOWN – Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow said he is among several opposition MPs questioned by police today in relation to their participation in the August 2 march on Parliament.
In a statement, the Tanjong lawmaker said he gave his statement to a cop at his office at Komtar here this morning.
“The questioning took 45 minutes and it was done at my office.”
It is learnt that Jelutong’s R.S.N. Rayer, too, was questioned over the same matter.
Yesterday, former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and his son Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir were among the parliamentarians quizzed by police over the march, which saw Pakatan Harapan MPs and their allies calling for Parliament to reconvene immediately.
The lawmakers were blocked by police’s Federal Reserve Unit from reaching the Parliament building. – The Vibes, August 10, 2021
