MIRI – Police have arrested a 34-year-old man in Kuching for alleged social media outbursts against standard operating procedures (SOPs) implemented by a mosque in Petra Jaya near the city centre.
The man was arrested yesterday after he uploaded a video of his outbursts, said Kuching district police chief Ahsmon Bajah today.
“The man was unhappy about the SOPs imposed by a mosque in Petra Jaya that limited the number of people allowed.
“He posted angry comments online.
“He was tracked down and arrested yesterday,” he said in a press statement, adding that the suspect will be investigated for public mischief.
The man had also posted another video of himself brandishing a sword and performing silat near a public temple in Kuching city centre, he said.
