KUALA LUMPUR – The Sultan of Johor Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar granted an audience to Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, at the Istana Pasir Pelangi, Johor Baru, this morning.
In a Facebook statement, Sultan Ibrahim had highlighted the 10.45am meeting but did not reveal what the meeting was about except that it lasted for an hour.
Only yesterday, Sultan Ibrahim granted an audience to Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin in light of the resumption of Johor’s state assembly.
Muhyiddin was also present for the opening of Johor’s state assembly as Gambir assemblyman.
Sultan Ibrahim had earlier warned that he would not hesitate to dissolve the state legislature if there were any attempts to overthrow the state government.
Sultan Ibrahim also said there should be no need for assemblymen to focus on their positions when there is a pandemic raging through the country.
Following the audience, Muhyiddin yesterday also expressed agreement with the state ruler when he took to Facebook, saying that he agreed with calls to focus on the pandemic as opposed to politics.– The Vibes, August 13, 2021
