KUALA LUMPUR – Eight localities in Sabah and one in Pahang will come under the enhanced movement control order (EMCO) from Monday to August 29.
Senior Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein said the areas in Sabah are Kg Sg Pukul and Kg Muhibbah Raya in Tawau; Kg Paka Kawiyan and Kg Matupang in Ranau; and, the Excellent Challenger II plantation housing in Beluran.
The other areas in Sabah are Donggongan town (Blocks G, H, K, L) in Penampang, Megalong, and the Donggongan Phase 2 municipality area; Kg Sembirai Lebak Engad in Kota Belud; and, Kg Tuhau in Matunggong, Kudat.
“In Pahang, the affected locality is Kg Orang Asli Terisu, Pos Terisu in Cameron Highlands,” said Hishammuddin in a statement.
Meanwhile, the EMCO in Kg Darau in Menggatal, Kota Kinabalu, which had been slated to end today, has been extended to August 28.
The same order imposed on 10 localities in Sabah, Pahang and Selangor ended as scheduled.
The localities in Sabah are Lorong Kuala Laut Likas, Kg Warisan, Kg Rakyat Baru and the Imbas Jaya workers’ quarters in Jalan Kionsom in Kota Kinabalu; Kg Tinusa 2 in Sandakan; and, Lorong 3 Kg Klias Baru and Kg Melulugus in Beaufort.
The areas in Pahang are Bandar Melati and the Senang plantation in Rompin, while in Selangor, the locality is Gugusan Semarak in PJU 5, Kota Damansara.
Hishammuddin said 96 premises were ordered shut yesterday for flouting Covid-19 standard operating procedures, while 149 individuals were compounded and six remanded. – Bernama, August 14, 2021
