KUALA LUMPUR – Fully vaccinated individuals in states under Phase 1 of the National Recovery Plan will be allowed to dine in at eateries from tomorrow onwards.
In a statement today, caretaker prime minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin also announced that weekly and night markets will be allowed to operate.
These relaxations will come into force at midnight.
Muhyiddin also said outdoor sports and recreational activities that do not involve contact and teams are allowed in Phase 1 areas and within district boundaries.
On dine-in activities, Muhyiddin urged eatery operators to provide more outdoor seating areas for better ventilation.
He also said the operators must ensure patrons present their Covid-19 digital vaccination certificates before being allowed into the premises.
“For couples who have received complete vaccinations and want to bring their children aged 17 and below for dine-ins, ensure that their children comply with strict SOPs (standard operating procedures).”
Muhyiddin said restaurants and cafes in clubhouses will also be allowed to operate and that the conditions are the same as with other eateries.
However, changing and bathing room operations in clubhouses are not allowed to reduce the risk of infection.
He said sports and recreational activities allowed include, but are not limited to, jogging, exercising, taichi, cycling, skateboarding, fishing, equestrian sports, archery, hiking, singles tennis, singles badminton, golf and motoring.
