KUALA LUMPUR – Police confirmed conducting a search at the residence of celebrity preacher Ebit Irawan Ibrahim Lew, better known as Ebit Lew, yesterday.
Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department director Datuk Seri Abd Jalil Hassan said the search was conducted to facilitate investigation after police recorded the preacher’s statement.
“It is a normal process to complete investigation of the case.”
Yesterday, Ebit was summoned to Bukit Aman to record his statement over a sexual harassment allegation.
The case is investigated under Section 509 of the Penal Code, Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act.
It is learnt that the probe is related to a viral video showing a man resembling the well-known preacher. – Bernama, August 20, 2021
