KUALA LUMPUR – Malaysia’s daily Covid-19 tally today declined to 22,070 from yesterday’s record-high 24,599, taking the national caseload to 1,662,913.
Selangor tops the table with 5,920 infections, followed by Sabah (3,010), Sarawak (2,224), Kedah (2,072), Penang (1,829), Johor (1,809), Kuala Lumpur (1,068) and Kelantan (1,051).
Perak logged 939 cases, Pahang (610), Melaka (589), Terengganu (488), Negri Sembilan (338), Perlis (76), Putrajaya (39) and Labuan (8).
Of the 22,070 infections logged, 15 are imported cases.
Another 339 deaths were recorded today bringing total fatalities to 15,550.
Total recoveries stand at 1,381,668 with 21,877 logged today.
There are 982 patients are in intensive care, out of which 470 require respiratory assistance.
Malaysia also recorded 28 new clusters, with 1,467 clusters still active.
Health Director-General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said of the new clusters, 12 are related to workplaces, 15 from the community, five and one from a detention centre.
The clusters with the highest number of cases today are Tapak Bina Changkat Sg Ara 20 in Penang with 114 cases followed by Industri Persiaran Delima (107) and Tembok Puncak Alam, Kuala Selangor (74). – The Vibes, August 27, 2021
