KUANTAN – A soldier who was involved in the Malaysian army’s Para Predator Exercise in Kg Batu Bor, Bera is feared to have drowned in Sg Pahang.

TDM said in a statement today that Mohamad Azrin Mohamad Isa, 27, a member of the Pathfinder Company, was undergoing a tactical training phase crossing the river when he went missing at 4.40pm yesterday.

“TDM had mobilised a search-and-rescue (SAR) operation at 4.50pm yesterday, before it was postponed at 7pm. The SAR resumed today, but the victim has yet to be found,” the statement said.

The operation was also joined by the Fire and Rescue Department, Civil Defence Force, and local residents.

TDM said it hoped that the public would not make any speculations that could affect the search, or affect the feelings of the victim’s next-of-kin.

The Para Predator Exercise, a two-week large-scale exercise from Tuesday, is implemented by the army’s 10th Brigade and based at Terendak Camp, Melaka, involving almost 1,900 officers and personnel.
